Story
The Phantom II was designed by Henri Royce and marketed between 1929 and 1935.
It used an improved 7.7-litre (7,668 cm3) engine from the Phantom I, an in-line 6-cylinder engine with overhead camshafts and a new transverse flow cylinder head.
It is the last of the great six-cylinder Rolls.
The engine is fed by a single Rolls-Royce carburettor and develops a maximum power of 120 bhp at 3,500 rpm.
It is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.
The Phantom II benefits from a reinforced chassis and semi-elliptic springs on the front suspension, a change from the previous model which had its springs at the rear.
All four wheels have power-assisted brakes.
Built in 1,680 examples, it was the last of the 6-cylinder Rolls-Royces.
As was customary at the time, only the chassis and parts were designed by Rolls-Royce.
The most famous coachbuilders of the day worked on the Phantom II, Park Ward, Mulliner, Hooper...
